Founding Attorney
Jonathan Overman is the founder and lead attorney at Overbird Law, where he has built a practice rooted in aggressive advocacy, personal integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his clients. With over a decade of legal experience, Jonathan handles a diverse range of cases spanning personal injury, wrongful death, criminal defense, civil litigation, and administrative law.
A proud Clemson University graduate, Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2015 and immediately began making an impact in the legal community.
Jonathan currently serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia. In this role, he handles complex government litigation involving regulatory enforcement, administrative hearings, and civil matters on behalf of state agencies. This role gives him an inside understanding of how government entities build and prosecute their cases — knowledge he uses to benefit his clients.
Jonathan's approach to the law is deeply personal. He grew up with values instilled through his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout — America's highest scouting honor. The same dedication, preparation, and moral compass that guided his scouting career now define his legal practice. He believes in doing what's right, preparing thoroughly, and never backing down from a challenge.
At Overbird Law, Jonathan personally handles every case. He doesn't pass clients off to paralegals or junior associates. When you hire Jonathan Overman, you get Jonathan Overman — in the office, on the phone, in the courtroom. This hands-on approach ensures that no detail is missed and that every client receives the focused attention their case demands.
Jonathan is known in the courtroom for his tenacity and preparation. He never settles for less than his clients deserve, and he's not afraid to take cases to trial when the opposition refuses to offer fair compensation. His willingness to go the distance is one of the reasons insurance companies and opposing counsel take his cases seriously.
“Every client who walks through our door is facing one of the most difficult moments of their life. My job isn't just to represent them — it's to give them hope, fight like their future depends on it, and deliver results that change their lives for the better.”
